Stars on Earth Fund is an organization which was established in 2009 after founder, Narelle Payne, spent some time volunteering in a rural school in India that she found to be in desperate need of resources. We are a young organization with strong intention to reach out to as many schools worldwide as possible. There is a desperate need for basic resources and infrastructure in the developing world. We know that only through education can we break the cycle of poverty.
The organization’s primary focus right now is to raise funds to assist a particular school in Tamil Nadu, India.
Above, is a photograph of the old structure. The asbestos roofing, inadequate shelter and space meant that it was not compliant with government standards and therefore was facing closure. Stars on Earth Fund raised enough money this year to enable the commencement of the project.
We are currently planning a fundraising event in New York in January which will help us to continue to support this wonderful little school.
Our projection into 2010 is to fund many more projects similar to this one by finding investors with a particular interest in education in India.
Many thanks to the endless assistance and support of Thomas Wrobel and associates, without whom, the legalities and fine tuning of setting up Stars on Earth would not have been such an easy, friendly and accommodating process.
