On August 21 from 2:00PM-3:00PM EDT, the IRS Exempt Organizations will be holding a phone forum discussing 501(c)(7) Social and Recreational Organizations. These organizations are defined as being organized for pleasure, recreation and other nonprofitable purposes.
Examples include fraternities, country clubs, hobby clubs and sports clubs. The central purpose of these organizations is to provide benefits to members such as access to recreational facilities.
This phone forum will cover various topics including how 501(c)(7) are different to other nonprofits, organizational and operational requirements, required filings, as well as unrelated business income and non-traditional income.
